For producing waterproof plywood, drying is a crucial step. The appropriate dryer can effectively remove moisture from the veneers, laying a solid foundation for subsequent waterproof treatments (such as using phenolic resin glue, improving hot pressing processes, or adding waterproofing agents).

Roller Press Continuous Dryer

The veneer is directly heated in contact with high-temperature rollers while being held under a steel belt, and dried under pressure.

Dried veneer is flat with uniform moisture content; high thermal efficiency with low heat loss.

Suitable for large-scale continuous production requiring high veneer flatness and energy efficiency.

Jet Air Roller Dryer

The veneer is conveyed by upper and lower rollers, and high-velocity hot air is vertically blown onto both surfaces of the veneer through nozzles for drying.

Has the effect of smoothing the veneer; can use various heat sources like steam or hot air furnaces (which can utilize waste wood), making it energy-saving and eco-friendly.

Wide applicability, especially suitable for post-shearing drying processes and veneers with thicknesses of 0.3mm-3.6mm. The hot air furnace type can utilize production waste materials, reducing costs.

Mesh Belt Dryer

The veneer is conveyed on a mesh belt through multiple independent drying chambers, each with its own hot air circulation and dehumidification system.

Modular chamber design allows precise control of temperature and humidity in each section; nozzle box design ensures hot air penetrates the veneer evenly.

Suitable for scenarios requiring fine-tuned drying processes and strict control over the drying curve.

Multi-layer (Stack) Dryer

Veneers are stacked layer by layer on racks inside the dryer and dried using circulating heat from mediums like steam.

Relatively small footprint, high space utilization; uses high-grade insulation materials and variable frequency drives for energy saving and stable operation.

Suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises with limited production space or those requiring batch drying.

How to choose the right dryer 


The final choice depends on your specific needs and conditions:

If you pursue extremely high veneer flatness and drying efficiency and have sufficient budget, the Roller Press Continuous Dryer is the preferred choice.

If you wish to flexibly use waste wood as fuel to reduce costs, the Jet Air Roller Dryer equipped with a hot air furnace is very economical.

If your production space is limited, the Multi-layer Dryer can utilize space effectively.

If you are particularly concerned about precise control and uniformity of the drying process, the modular structure of the Mesh Belt Dryer can be helpful.


Uses of waterproof plywood


Waterproof plywood (typically referring to plywood made using waterproof adhesives like phenolic resin and treated through special processes, such as marine plywood) has a wide range of applications due to its exceptional durability and moisture resistance.


1. Construction and Outdoor Engineering

This is the core application area for waterproof plywood.


1 Concrete Formwork: This is one of the highest volume uses. Waterproof plywood (especially overlaid/film-faced plywood) has a smooth surface, can withstand the moisture and weight of wet concrete, can be reused many times, and results in a smooth concrete surface after demolding.

      Scenarios: Building foundations, columns, floor slabs, bridges, dams—essentially any project requiring poured concrete.


2 Exterior Structural Components : Used for building parts directly exposed to weather.

      Scenarios:

          House Wall Sheathing: Acts as the base layer on the outside of the wall frame.
