Plywood Veneer Glue Spreading Machine Introduction


What is Glue Machine?

The glue spreading machine is also known as the glue scraper, glue spreader. A mechanical device used to apply glue to the surface of a veneer. There are mainly :(1) horizontal gluing machine or double acting gluing machine. The peeled veneer is coated with a thin glue through the working rollers. (2) drum glue machine. Instead of a drying table, there is a hollow metal drum heated by steam; (3) Vertical or inclined pulping machine. After the textile is dipped in glue, the excess glue on the surface is scraped away by the applicator and the pressing roller. Then through the vertical or inclined drying table to make the solvent volatilized and the remaining rubber layer; (4) The desktop glue applicator is to spray glue or paint onto the material through the air pressure. The equipment uses a three-axis linkage, automatic operation, at the same time with computer programming control path spraying. Spraying thickness and time can be set, easy to operate.

Gluing machines' Technical requirements?

The performance of the glue machine not only affects the gluing quality of the veneer, but also determines the amount of glue used and affects the production cost of the plywood. Therefore, the roller type glue machine has the following technical requirements.

Improve the uniformity of glue coating on the entire format of the veneer. Specific measures are as follows:

(1) Ensure the manufacturing and installation accuracy of parts and components of the gluing machine. For example, to ensure that the working surface of the rubber roller and the extrusion roller is all runout to the axis, the parallelism of the upper and lower rubber roller, the parallelism of the extrusion roller and the rubber roller, etc.

(2) Appropriately increase the diameter of the rubber roller.

(3) According to the different types of rubber, the rubber coated by the roller is coated with different hardness, and the grooves on the surface of the roller are of different shapes and sizes.

4) In order to adapt to the veneer of different thickness, the spacing of the upper and lower cots should be adjustable, and the thickness of the rubber layer should be easy to control and adjust. The thickness of the rubber layer is mainly determined by the gap between the extrusion roller and the rubber roller. The adjustment accuracy of the gap should be controlled at about 0.01mm, and the amount of glue is usually controlled within the range of 105-430g /m.

4) Improve the wear resistance and rust resistance of the parts of the glue machine, set up the necessary safety protection devices, in order to improve the life of the glue machine and ensure safe operation.


Gluing machines' Working principles?

1) Double roll glue applicator.

The double-roll gluing machine is mainly composed of an upper and lower gluing roller and a gluing groove. The lower part of the lower gluing roller is immersed in the gluing groove, and the gluing liquid of the upper gluing roller is transferred by the lower gluing roller. When the single board passes between the two rubber rollers, it contacts the rubber rollers so that the rubber liquid on the roller is coated on the upper and lower surfaces of the single board. The amount of glue mainly depends on adjusting the gap between the upper and lower cots and the pressure of the upper cots. The thicker and narrower the veneer is, the greater the pressure of the roller on the veneer is, and the smaller the amount of glue is. On the contrary, the greater the amount of glue. The shape and number of the groove on the roller also affect the sizing amount. The height of the liquid level of the glue in the groove should reach 1/3 of the diameter of the lower rubber roller. Too large or too small will affect the amount of glue.


2) Three-roll gluing machine.

The three-roll gluing machine is to add an extruder next to the upper or lower gluing roller. The amount of gluing is determined by the gap between the gluing roller and the extruder. An extruding roller is arranged beside the upper rubber coating roller, and the rubber is supplied by the rubber pump through the rubber tube. The groove formed between the rubber coating roller and the extruding roller is used to store the glue. An extruded rubber roller is set beside the lower rubber applicator to supply glue from the groove. The amount of glue applied is not affected by the height of the liquid level of the groove. Although the three-roll gluing machine has good gluing quality, it can only control the amount of single-side gluing, so it is not widely used.


3) four-roll gluing machine.

The four-roll gluing machine is to add an extruding roller beside the upper and lower gluing rollers to control the gluing amount on the upper and lower surfaces of the single board respectively. The linear speed of the extrusion roller is 15%~20% lower than that of the coating roller, which plays the role of scraping, and the gap between the extrusion roller and the coating roller is adjustable to ensure that the thickness of the upper and lower rubber layer is uniform. The upper and lower rubber rollers provide glue at the same time, non-interference, glue is not easy to produce beating, is a widely used glue equipment.


There are two kinds of arrangement for the extrusion roller of the four - roll applicator. 1) The upper and lower extruded rubber rollers are arranged on both sides of the rubber rollers respectively, and the rubber pump provides glue through the rubber hose respectively; 2) The upper and lower extruding rollers are located at the feeding side of the rubber applicator. The upper rubber applicator is supplied by the rubber pump, and the lower rubber applicator is supplied by the lower rubber groove. Due to the different arrangement of the roller and the way to supply glue, its role is also different. The former coating uniform, can save glue material; The latter applies when productivity is relatively high.



How to use and maintain Glue machine?

1) Reasonably adjust the gluing speed of the gluing machine. In the use of the glue machine, the speed of the glue roller should be adjusted appropriately according to the type of glue and the thickness of the single board. In general, the glue coating speed of the glue liquid with larger viscosity should be slower to prevent the uneven glue coating on the surface of the single board. The glue coating speed can be faster when the thin single board is coated.


2) Reasonably adjust the pressure of the rubber roller on the veneer. When the veneer is coated, the appropriate pressure of the rubber roller is beneficial to the veneer surface layer uniformity and no leakage coating. However, for the veneer of different thickness, the pressure applied by the rubber roller should be different. For thin veneer, the pressure of the rubber roller on the veneer should be small to prevent the veneer from being crushed. When the coating speed is high, the pressure of the rubber roller on the veneer should be reduced.


3) Reasonably adjust the gap between the extrusion roller and the coating roller. There is a speed difference between the extrusion roller and the coating roller, which can play the role of scraping the excess glue on the surface of the coating roller and control the amount of glue. However, the gap between the two should be adjusted appropriately according to the different types of adhesive. The gap of the glue with large viscosity should be increased, and the gap of the glue with small viscosity should be reduced, so as to prevent the glue from leaking out from the gap.


4) Reasonable control of the amount of glue in the glue groove. The amount of glue in the groove has a certain effect on the amount of glue attached to the surface of the rubber roller. Usually, the amount of glue in the groove should be able to make the groove of the lower rubber roller with good glue. If the amount of glue in the groove is too small, the adhesive liquid attached to the surface of the rubber roller will be reduced, resulting in uneven distribution of the adhesive layer on the surface of the rubber coating board or leakage coating; Too much glue will make the surface of the rubber roller with too much glue, resulting in the waste of glue. For the glue applicator with the upper extrusion roller, the groove between the upper extrusion roller and the rubber applicator is used to store the glue liquid, and the amount of glue in the groove should be controlled reasonably by adjusting the amount of glue.


Maintain:

1) The glue machine should be inspected before use every day, and foreign bodies should be cleaned in time to check whether the equipment is normally lubricated and whether the moving components are flexible.


2) After the trial operation is normal, the glue is injected into the glue tank, and then the gap between the rubber rollers is adjusted reasonably according to the thickness of the single board and the viscosity of the glue

3) During the gluing process, attention should be paid to cleaning the veneer surface to prevent sharp debris from scratching the rubber layer covered by the rubber roller surface; The furrow wear on the surface of rubber layer caused by long time use should be trimmed in time.


4) After a long time of shutdown and the end of work every day, in order to prevent the solidification of the glue, the glue applicator should be thoroughly cleaned, the glue roller, the extrusion roller and the glue groove should be cleaned, and the glue spilled throughout the fuselage should also be completely removed. After cleaning, pay attention to dry water stains to prevent rust.


5) During the period when the glue machine is out of service, it should be restored to factory status; Adjust the upper and extruded cots back to the initial position, rotate the adjusting nut of the extruded cots and the adjusting sleeve of the extruded cots, so that the pressure regulating spring of the extruded cots and the jacking spring of the extruded cots are completely relaxed, and all components are fully lubricated and equipment maintenance is carried out.


Veneer gluing is an important process in the production of plywood. The quality of gluing not only affects the bonding strength of veneer and the physical and mechanical properties of plywood, but also affects the production cost of plywood.
