There are two kinds of corrugated pipes used in metal hoses, one is spiral corrugated pipe; the other is annular corrugated pipe.
Spiral bellows
The spiral corrugated pipe is a tubular shell with corrugations arranged in a spiral shape. There is a helix angle between two adjacent corrugations, and all corrugations can be connected by a spiral line.
Annular bellows
Annular bellows is a tubular shell with closed circular corrugations, and the waves are formed by ring corrugations in series. The annular corrugated pipe is formed from seamless pipe or welded pipe. Restricted by the processing method, the length of the single tube is usually shorter than that of the spiral corrugated tube. The advantages of annular bellows are good elasticity and low stiffness.
Metal hose connection:
The connection methods of metal hoses are divided into flange connection, thread connection, and quick connector connection. Small-diameter metal hoses are generally connected by thread and quick connector, and larger diameters are generally connected by flange.
Stainless steel metal hose (also known as metal hose, stainless steel hose, stainless steel corrugated hose, Metal Hose) is a high-quality flexible pipe in modern industrial pipelines. It is mainly composed of stainless steel bellows, stainless steel mesh sleeves and metal hose joints.

4. The stainless steel mesh sleeve is the main pressure-bearing part of the metal braided hose installed in the pressure pipeline, and at the same time protects the metal hose. According to the pressure in the pipeline and the application place, one or more layers of stainless steel wire can be selected. Or the steel belt is woven according to certain parameters to form a high-pressure metal hose. The pressure range of metal braided hose is generally between PN0.6 ~ 32.0MPa, and the maximum is 42.0MPa. There are two types of stainless steel mesh sleeves: steel mesh sleeves and steel mesh sleeves.
The material of the main parts of the metal hose is made of austenitic stainless steel, which ensures the excellent temperature resistance and corrosion resistance of the metal hose. In the selection of metal hose material, the corresponding stainless steel grade should be selected according to the corrosiveness of the pipeline medium, which can ensure the corrosion resistance of the metal hose.
5. The three functions of the metal hose: reducing the installation stress of the pipeline, compensating for the movement of the rated position of the pipeline, and absorbing the vibration of the pipeline system.
6. Application of metal hose: It needs a fully flexible delivery pipe, and it can be selected at the place to prevent vibration. It can be used in steam, gas, air, heavy oil, petroleum, chemical industry, etc.
7. Five elements for the selection of metal hoses
(1) Size: The nominal diameter of the hose, the type of joint (mainly flange connection, threaded connection, quick joint connection), the size of the metal hose, and the length of the hose.
(2) Pressure According to the actual working pressure of the hose, check the nominal diameter and pressure gauge of the corrugated metal hose, and decide whether to use the stainless steel mesh type metal hose.
(3) Medium The chemical properties of the medium conveyed in the hose determine the material of each part of the hose according to the corrosion resistance of the hose material.
(4) Temperature The working temperature and range of the medium in the hose; the ambient temperature when the hose is working. When the temperature is high, the pressure after temperature correction must be determined according to the working pressure and temperature correction coefficient of the metal hose at high temperature, so as to determine the correct pressure level.
(5) Status According to the status of the hose, refer to the correct use and installation method of the metal hose and the optimum length of the hose during settlement compensation. Factors such as the length calculation of various motion states of the hose and the minimum bending times and minimum bending radius of the hose, the parameters of the hose length are correctly selected and installed correctly.
